5. TEACHING PRACTICE

1.1     Procedures of your teaching
There are several steps taken in teaching, namely:
a.       Opening
This opening aims to let students know what they will learn. Before going to the learning objectives and material, a question and answer session was held on the previous material. Do not forget to also greet and checking attendance.
b.      Main activities
After explaining what will be learned, the teacher provides a material based on the lesson plan that has been made. In this class, I gave a brief explanation about Indonesia and then they did games so they understood the material being taught. In Thailand, especially in this school, they do not understand if given a continuous explanation using English. So, I have to provide activities that make them not feel bored to learn English and easy to understand.
c.       Closing
After explaining the material and giving a few games or watching a video, then at the end of the lesson, I reviewed the lesson that day. Then, I give information about the material taught at the next meeting. Then closed with greeting.

1.2     Time management and organizing activities
One class meeting is given 50 minutes for each subject. The teacher must be able to divide the time well, according to what will be learned. In English lessons, time management for classes is usually done with careful division and planning. This is done so that when in class, the teacher already understands what is learned and the division of time right in accordance with the schedule.
In organizing activities, this class can organize activities well. In the distribution of material to be discussed, it is relatable with the games performed, and evaluations or assignments at the end of learning. This applies to every meeting.

1.3     Problem-solving
In Thailand, especially in this school, students have a hard time understanding English well. Therefore, English language instructors here must really be able to plan well the teaching material and the language used must be as simple as possible. This is also related to problem-solving. I use playing games and watch videos in English so students can easily understand what I have learned. Because in this school, or especially in Prathom 5, they must see and hear so that they can easily understand something. So, I have to make activities such as playing games and watching videos to make it easier for them to understand English.

1.4     Classroom management
Classroom management that occurs in this class is quite difficult because there are quite a lot of students and they sometimes chat with their friends, walking around. So that it is difficult to control, moreover they are in the process of being happy to play. When I told them to sit down and be quiet, they did not understand because the English I used were not understood by them. As an example of 'sit down' and 'attention please', they cannot understand because of a lack of knowledge and training for English.

1.5     Your overall impression in teaching
I learned a lot about teaching in Thailand. I was placed at Elementary school, even though I took an interest in ESP (English for Specific Purposes) where I learned about the vocational school and other majors. This was an interesting experience for me as a teacher who went directly to students at Elementary School. I am very happy and I can add experience related to making lesson plans, managing the class, and doing various activities (Children day, Sports Day) together with students.
This school provides good supervision and is able to guide SEA Teachers who teach well. Students also feel enthusiastic about the arrival of SEA Teacher, because it provides a different experience for them.

To manage the class, I often hold quizzes so that they can be conducive and give attention to learning materials. This is very helpful for students in this class. They can understand well what I say, and they can give more attention if I explain something.
